Essential Job Functions Receives instruction in the functions of County institutions and their relationship to the community.
Learns the purpose and methods of the psychological program.
Attends in-service training classes and lectures to become familiar with various hospital, outpatient, and employee assistance services and functions.
Attends medical and psychological staff meetings to become familiar with medical terminology and the application of classroom theory.
Interviews incoming patients, reads medical histories, and prepares biographical data sheets.
Attends training, participates in discussions involving the application of psychological principles, andprovides case presentations.
Administers supportive psychotherapy to relieve thedistress ofclients and render them more amenable to treatment.
Attends staff and peer meetings and assumes responsibility for material primarily related toconsultations, crisesand psychotherapy.
Writes case histories involving the integration of all testing to patients.
Provides psychotherapy, crisis management, consultations, outreach and lecturesunder supervision.
Participates in the development of psychological treatment plans.
Performs applied research as needed.
RequirementsSELECTION REQUIREMENTS: A Doctoral degree or current enrollment* in a doctoral program in Clinical or CounselingPsychology approved by the American Psychological Association and from an accredited** college or university.
Physical ClassPhysical Class II Light: Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved.
License(s) Required A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
