Travel Industry

This position is part of the Sales & Travel Operations (SATO) Public Relations team. Supporting the global sales organization, SATO PR drives Disney messages through a broad range of domestic and international media. The teams PR efforts support the full Disney Destinations portfolio and are business-to-business focused, with emphasis on trade media (travel industry, group & convention, youth travel and HR/training), as well as select consumer business media.

Disney Institute

Part of the Sales & Travel Operations (SATO) Public Relations team. Disney Institute is the global professional training arm of The Walt Disney Company. One of the most recognized names in professional development, Disney Institute offers engaging seminars, workshops and presentations, as well as fully customized programming at Disney destinations in the Americas, Europe and Asia and client sites around the world. Disney Institute Public Relations is responsible for supporting sales and marketing efforts and managing the organizations reputation among global trade and business media.

Group & Convention/Youth Programs

Part of the Sales & Travel Operations (SATO) Public Relations team. The G&C/Youth team interacts with industry trade media to position Disney destinations as exceptional locations for meetings, conventions, incentive programs and other group events. The team also promotes Disney Youth Programs, which include education and performance opportunities for school groups. In addition to targeting numerous trade media, Youth PR support also includes outreach to select consumer media.

Responsibilities

Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support domestic and international PR efforts that target a variety of markets around the world
  • Support core PR functions, which includes managing media relationships, servicing on-property site visits, participation in media FAMs and press events
  • Assist Managers with projects, both in the office and in the field, including, but not limited to:
    • Developing story pitches, articles and case studies
    • Assist in writing press releases and listings and photo captions
    • Coordinating media visits and assist with hosting media on an as-needed basis
    • Provide general administrative support, i.e. correspondence and phone coverage
  • Assist with internal communications projects
  • Maintain databases for media information, projects and other related information
  • Create and maintain media-coverage summary reports
  • Assist with special projects as needed


Basic QualificationsThese are the minimum qualifications required to be considered for this position:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university as a junior or senior earning a degree majoring in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications, Marketing or similar
  • Computer proficiency within a Windows environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong partnering and relationship skills
  • Previous internship experience in Journalism, Public Relations, Media Relations, Government Relations, Marketing or similar
  • Strong partnering skills and the desire to succeed within a team environment

This position is part of the Walt Disney World Public Relations team. Responsibilities

Support international PR and Social Media efforts targeted to markets served by Disney Destinations PR, primarily Latin America, but also supporting international offices in Canada and the United Kingdom. Description of the Program/Site: The Center for Urban Community Services, a national leader in the development of effective housing and service initiatives for homeless people, invites applications for a Summer Internship position at the CUCS Harlem Transitional Services. HTS provides chronically street homeless individuals with mental illness and/or substance abuse assistance in obtaining and maintaining permanent housing. The program includes the 40- bed Kelly Transitional Living Community and the Housing Placement Center. The Housing First/Harm Reduction Model is used to engage people who otherwise may not accept services. The Kelly Transitional Living Community is seeking a summer intern to assist with the following responsibilities: Developing a resource bank for vocational and recreational activities for the residents of the Kelly and assisting with site tours and enrollment for the programs that are identified; Coaching residents on shopping, budgeting, and the management of their Activities of Daily Living; facilitating recreational groups/outings; and escorting residents to housing, medical or entitlement appointments. Country Analyst Volunteer

Clinton Health Access InitiativeBoston, MA
Overview: Since 2002, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, CHAI (formerly the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative), has been assisting developing countries in implementing large-scale, integrated HIV care, treatment, and prevention programs. CHAI is currently active in Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and Eastern Europe. In support of national HIV/AIDS programs, CHAI provides technical assistance, mobilizes human and financial resources, and facilitates the sharing of best practices across projects. CHAI has also negotiated agreements with leading pharmaceutical companies that have lowered the cost of HIV/AIDS and malaria diagnostics and treatment in the developing world by 30-90%. CHAI first partnered with the Government of Cambodia in February 2005 to enable the country access to affordable drug and lab commodity prices through CHAIs Procurement Consortium. CHAI provides technical assistance to the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs (NCHADS) for projects related to logistics, supply chain management, laboratory strengthening, pediatric care and treatment scale-up and prevention of mother-to-child transmission. Following a successful scale-up of PMTCT services Cambodia endeavours to eliminate mother to child transmission of HIV by the year 2020. CHAI is currently seeking candidates for the position of County Analyst to work with the HIV team in Cambodia. Reporting to the Country Director, the Phnom Penh based analyst will support the launch and implementation of a national campaign to eliminate vertical transmission of HIV. A minimum commitment of 18 months is preferred for this role.
