Flowers contemporary art gallery in Chelsea is looking for a gallery assistant for the Spring semester. The intern will be working closely with the manager and director, and will be expected to assist with administrative duties including answering phones, interacting with clients/institutions, organization, assembling mailings, running errands, etc. Additionally, the intern is expected to assist with general gallery maintenance and art handling, such as cleaning, installations, and wrapping, delivering, and shipping artworks. During the term of the internship, there will be several opportunities for special projects involving research, writing, and communication with press outlets. While this is an unpaid internship, this opportunity will provide a wealth of experience for students hoping to pursue a career in the arts at a premier international gallery. Intern must be available to work at least 3 days a week (gallery hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10am-6pm). The ideal candidate will be mature, affable, reliable, organized, and energetic. A background in art history, fine arts, humanities and/or office administration. Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft office and an understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (photoshop etc) is helpful but not required. Graphic design experience is a plus. Paddling Guides and Instructors - part time Part-time guides are often apprenticing or interning while growing their outdoor leadership and sea kayaking skills. Staff may also be part-time if working with Lost Creek while holding down another job or taking college classes. Part time guides run day trips and assist full-time staff on longer trips. You must be available to work all day during the weekends, and are welcome to work during the week when work is available. Qualifications expected are the same as for Full-time staff though lower levels of paddling ability are to be expected at first. Position dates: June through Labor day with some shoulder season work possible. Apprentices and Interns can expect very light work loads until the end of June when the season starts to get busy. Gigantic! Productions is currently seeking applications for summer semester interns. Our interns will assist with various aspect of series production from development to pre- and post-production. Our interns also have the opportunity to assist producers on local shoots and get experience working on set. We are a smaller company, which is highly beneficial to our interns as they are able to gain experience in more than one area and work closely with our staff. Our intern program also focuses on educational opportunities allowing interns to shadow various staff members, sit in on editing and/or voice over sessions, and provides informational opportunities.
