Located 15 miles from Washington, DC, we are looking for year long interns in each department of our church- from children's to small groups, and from creative arts to student ministries.

Ski Travel Unlimited, skitravel.com and the Fairfax Surf Shop is based in Fairfax City, VA. Ski Travel Unlimited has operated high school and college ski/snowboard trips to Canada for over 30 years. Presently, Ski Travel takes students from over 100+ high schools in the VA, MD, Washington DC metro area and over 350 colleges all over the north-eastern United States. Nearly 4,000 students annually attend our trips to the world-class resort at Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada, Seven Springs, PA and other ski resorts. The Fairfax Surf Shop is a landmark surf-snow-skate retail shop that has been located in the City of Fairfax for 38 years. In addition, for the past five summers, the Fairfax Surf Shop and Ski Travel have coordinated the annual non-profit event, SkateFest Fairfax and Sk8 for a Cause to raise money for the Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C. The intern will be assist with the public relations for the SkateFest and Sk8 for a Cause event. Primary Responsibilities: The Development and Fundraising intern will work with Catholic Charities USAs development department to assist with donor and foundation outreach and research. Responsibilities will include assisting with creating donor profiles, planning events and receptions, creating reports, and providing operational support to the department. The intern will have the opportunity to attend development events in Washington, DC and gain experience working in the fundraising department of a national non-profit.

Our Beta stage start-up company (www.sherpia.com) is looking for a summer intern to perform data analysis related to our social search platform. The position will be for a 3-month period. You will be given ample flexibility in terms of setting your hours and working remotely. The position also may be part-time or full-time depending on your availability. As background, Sherpia is a mobile application that allows its users to easily find relevant and recommended web content for their specific set of interests. The resource will be an integral member of a team with significant experience in digital media, technology development, and growing software companies. Specific activities will include assessing partner integrations, mapping data fields to our database, and researching Geo-spatial techniques in order to recommend design alternatives. Other tasks will be added based on areas of interest (e.g. social marketing, mobile app testing). This is an unpaid internship and work will be completed virtually.

The Fauquier Historical Society's Old Jail Museum is a small non-profit museum dedicated to the collection, preservation and exhibition of Fauquier County history. The Society utilizes the 1808 and 1823 former Fauquier County prisons as museum spaces which are available to the public six days per week year round at no cost. The FHS seeks a summer 2013 intern to assist its museum director in inventorying organizing and otherwise managing its collection of historic artifacts.
