Public Relations and Marketing Intern - Summer

The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum seeks talented college students searching for a dynamic internship experience in museum/attraction marketing; sport management and marketing; and public relations and community outreach. Interns will have hands on experience in a variety of efforts including, but not limited to, copy writing, photography, organizing promotional events, website management, media relations and on-site experience at a professional sports event. The focus of this internship is in to promote the ITHF via marketing, public relations, advertising, events, community and media relations, with the goal of increasing attendance and support for all departments (Museum, Tournament, Retail, Tennis Club and Membership/Development). Particular emphasis is placed on attracting tennis fans, tourists and area residents to visit the Museum and attend the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships. TIME COMMITMENT: Interns are accepted year-round. The focus of the work and time commitment required will be somewhat dictated by the time of the year. Summer: Beginning mid-May and running through August 20; Must be available daily from June 1 July 16; Must be willing to work nights and evenings; ITHF can be flexible on start and end dates, but requires strong commitment during peak tournament season of June 1 July 16. COMPENSATION: Interns must be receiving college credit to be eligible for this position. Upon proof of enrollment in a college course, interns will be paid a stipend of $20 per day. Should a student have interest in this position, but not be enrolled in a class for college credit, the ITHF would consider making the position available in a volunteer capacity.

The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum chronicles the history of the sport through a diverse collection of memorabilia, art, fashion and more from the 12th century through present day. Items on display include trophies and attire belonging to games biggest stars, vintage tennis equipment, video highlights of great matches and tennis wear ranging from Victorian dresses to modern athletic fashions. Since 1955, the International Tennis Hall of Fame has honored 211 of the games greatest champions, innovators, and contributors, including legends such as Rod Laver, Fred Perry, Billie Jean King, John McEnroe, Stefanie Graf, Martina Navratilova and Monica Seles. Set in the Newport Casino, a National Historic Landmark which was designed by the American architectural firm McKim, Mead & White, the buildings that house the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum were initially intended as a social club for Newport's rich and famous, and are now considered one of the worlds finest examples of Victorian shingle-style architecture. The Mobile Marketing Street Team hits the streets of Newport & the greater area from late May through August promoting the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum and the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships to the general public. The enthusiastic team generates interest in the Hall of Fame museum & tournament by going out on the streets and providing background information to the public about both the museum and tournament, updating the public about future happenings, distributing posters and brochures, engaging visitors through impromptu tennis on the sidewalks, in addition to trivia, giveaways, and more! COMPENSATION: All applicants must come from accredited schools, be applying for a school-approved internship and receiving credit. Students receiving academic credit receive a $20 per day stipend.

Business Development Internship Collections Internship The Collections department is responsible for ensuring the maximum royalty revenue amount due is collected by HFA on the behalf of HFAs publisher principals. We offer internships in the Spring, Summer and Fall. The Spring and Fall internships are part-time positions (12-15 hrs/week), unpaid, school credit only. Spring term begins in January and end in May. Fall begins in September and ends in December. The summer internship is a full-time paid internship, which runs from June through August.
