Internship description:
ITVS is looking for interns to assist the Communications department with its marketing and publicity efforts. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented, hard working, and social media savvy. While assisting with a wide range of projects, interns will gain hands-on experience participating in marketing strategy and execution for our Emmy Award-winning series Independent Lens as well as some ITVS funded films.


• Support the execution of marketing projects and campaigns for institutional projects, PBS series, and public television initiatives
• Draft blog entries, social media postings, and other marketing and publicity copy
• Assist with the compilation of quarterly department metrics for institutional reports
• Measure the reach and efforts of ITVS’s various social networking platforms and offering suggestions on how to increase impact
• Strategize and execute social media campaigns to drive tune-in and increase engagement around the weekly Independent Lens broadcast


Skills and Qualifications:
• Enrolled in school with a focus on film, broadcasting, sociology, public policy or marketing
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Excel
• A working knowledge of the following social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr
• Must be a student currently enrolled in an academic program and receive academic credit for the internship
