Marketing/Social Media Internship

Dress for Success Worldwide is an international not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Since starting operations in 1997, Dress for Success has expanded to more than 115 cities in 13 countries. To date, the organization has helped more than 650,000 women work towards self-sufficiency. In particular, the Los Angeles office opened on December 7th, 2009 and we have served over 2,500 clients by partnering with over 137 community agencies. We are also the first regional office of the worldwide organization!

Internship Program: The candidate has the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector and contribute to marketing/promotional efforts. The internship program is open year-round. Applicants seeking academic credit must make their own arrangements with their host institution in advance.

Responsibilities: The Dress for Success Worldwide-West internship experience incorporates hands-on experience with social media marketing, writing and community outreach. The intern will join a team who is responsible for increasing our brand awareness, driving internet traffic, and increasing activity on the organization’s social media accounts. Projects can range from event market research, monitoring and engaging on our social media accounts, Internet research, updating website, writing for e-newsletter, etc.

Requirements: Passion for Dress for Success’ mission. Excellent communication, social media marketing, writing and research skills are a must, Knowledge and experience working with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Computer experience in Microsoft Office; good organizational skills and attention to details and deadlines. Enthusiastic and eager to learn; professional, ability to multi-task, flexible, accuracy and thoroughness are especially important. Experience with Constant Contact a bonus.

Hours: 10-15 hours a week, days and times negotiable You have the option to work remotely or work in our Hollywood office.

Compensation: School credit only
