DescriptionNBN is an industry leader in the production and distribution of content for the PR and marketing industries, providing clients with a range of capabilities for taking our clients story and delivering their message to a national or target audience through online and broadcast media outlets -- including satellite, radio and online media tours, radio news releases, PSA production and distribution, video production and distribution, webcasts, multimedia video releases & media relations services.
NBN is currently looking for a new media/website intern to assist in all areas of the businesses digital communications efforts, especially the management of our online multimedia content sharing portal -- NewsInfusion.com. NBN's content portal allows journalists, consumers, bloggers, editors and producers to browse, download and share campaign assets. Video is available in up to ten formats, from cell phone and popular web-formats to broadcast-quality SD and HD, in both NTSC and PAL.
The target start date is beginning early August
This is an unpaid position with a weekly stipend for lunch and transportation
The position will last for a minimum of 6 weeks, and will require a minimum of 2-3 days and 12-15 hours per week.

ResponsibilitiesDirect responsibilities of the intern will include encoding, uploading and posting our clients video and audio and other campaign assets and materials on a NewsInfusion digital press kit or EPK page. In addition to daily postings and general maintenance and upkeep on the Content Management System (back-end) of NewsInfusion.com. Interns as well will engage in social media outreach, content syndication (youtube, vimeo, RSS, etc), managing and updating our company social bookmarking and networking site accounts/profiles (ie Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc) and writing and posting of company blog and other marketing material on our corporate website. Depending on experience with web-based systems and graphic design applications and coding knowledge (photoshop, dreamweaver, wordpress, html, css, etc), intern as well will help assist the New Media/Web & Graphic Design Director in basic website building and designing, as we work in expanding our new site -- PSAlibrary.com, as well banner and graphic design for use on current websites and marketing materials.
If interested in video production, intern can help in production dept and asked to oversee maintenance of our video library, converting analog tapes to digital format, and assisting as a Production Asst on in-studio and remote shoots around NYC, as well as in edit suites at our office facility.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual who is driven to learn and acquire new skills across multiple fields. Intern will witness first-hand what goes into running a professional PR & marketing video production and distribution operation, with exposure to the company’s various departments including media relations, reporting, writing, and marketing.
- Motivated student interested in media and broadcast services who possess skills at initiating innovative ideas, comfort working with digital media files. navigating and uploading to content sharing and social media sites and blogging for marketing and media outreach.
-Must have ability to judge correctly what will appeal to target audiences, good writing and editorial skills for basic marketing/PR and script drafting, understanding of new/digital media and any web or graphic design/new media experience or experience working on a websites backend content management system (CMS) is a plus -- photoshop, dreamweaver, wordpress, etc
- Prefer challenges that involve media communication, marketing/pr, and broadcast production and new/social media. Are people-oriented, can be available for early morning video shoots, and must coordinate distribution of news releases with sales team, promote networking and excel in roles that call for imagination and creativity.
