Tennessee Cares for Kids, Inc. (also known as MCC4K) is a Christian-based organization that was formed to meet the many needs associated with and stemming from child abuse, abandonment and neglect. We are a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization as defined by the IRS. Our Board of Directors is comprised of individuals with a passion for children and represent local businesses, community agencies, concerned citizens and governmental agencies. We are currently seeking an intern to assist us in expanding our reach and capacity.

The right intern candidate should be a college student interested in branding, social media, PR, and marketing as they relate to business administration, particularly in the Non-Profit Sector. Intern applicants will be required to submit proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university and pass a background check and drug test.

We are looking for someone who can commit to a minimum of 10-15 hours per week in the spring, and increase to 20-25 hours per week during the summer (in-office). Hours are somewhat flexible between the times of 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Intern will split time between locations in Lawrenceburg and Columbia, Tennessee.

The intern will be involved in all aspects of internet marketing, public relations projects, social media campaigns and outreach, volunteer recruitment and financial donor identification and fundraising events.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Working closely with and directly reporting to the Executive Director (ED)
• Supporting ED with day-to-day tasks
• Assisting with the daily branding and promotion of our organization and its activities
• Assist with internet marketing campaigns
• Marketing research, proofreading and editorial work, social network and website updates.
• Creating media lists
• Assisting with grant proposals
• Social Media maintenance
• Research
• Administrative and/or clerical duties
• Drafting media materials
• Data Input and Analysis
• Assisting in the development of content such as written marketing material, blog posts, etc.
• Providing support in building, monitoring and tracking marketing campaigns.
• Recruiting and interacting with volunteers
• Assisting in workflow management as needed
• Ownership of administrative tasks, such as updating the customer database and calendar management.
• Anything else you think would advance our mission and our business

Requirements

Qualifications:
You're a good fit IF YOU—
? can handle yourself in a mature, dependable and responsible manner (but can be relaxed and have fun at the same time)
? possess a stellar social media presence and/or have had other experience managing social media (e.g. for your school, startup, club, parent's biz, whatever etc.)
? have an analytical ability to monitor and provide reporting on marketing campaigns.
? are passionate about online media and the web as a marketing platform.
? can demonstrate superb communication skills (oral and written) — whether speaking to potential financial donors at a key event or talking authentically to users in 140 characters or less
? are beyond Tech-Savvy — you learn quickly and know every social media trick before Mashable does.
? eager to learn -- you love showing off the stuff you know and are excited about figuring out the unknown
? are proactive and have creative ideas for how to enable real life interaction with our customers, volunteers and especially donors
? are nimble and quick like a Ninja — you can hop online at a moment's notice to deal with any situation
? are passionate about our mission.
? have a willingness to learn and undertake any task, large or small, with a smile and a sense of humor.
