We are looking for an intern interested in learning all aspects of the public relations/social media field. The intern who fills this position should expect to learn the fields from a business perspective. It's essential that applicants to this position have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details. The intern will be working with other PR Interns, and will be able to work remotely from school. The person we bring on board will have the option to travel locally as needed. This person should also have extensive experience with social media use and be interested in learning the realms of social media marketing.


-Monitor all forms of media
-Write press releases and other materials for our company and our clients
-Draft articles and biographies
-Build relationships with location media
-Create interview preparation materials
-Prepare media and press kits for upcoming events
-Compile contact lists
-Attend network events sought out by the company (Although this in an unpaid internship, company will reimburse for gas when traveling and attendance to networking events are necessary. Travel must be approved by the CEO.)
-Seek network events to attend on behalf of the company
-Represent the company at all times
-Communicate with magazines, online radio stations and any other media outlets.
-Manage the day-to-day activities of our social media presence to ensure a consistent and high quality consumer experience
-Content calendar development, post writing and publication
-Short and long range content planning in conjunction with a wide range of internal business partners
-Community engagement/relationship building
-Audience building
-Listening and proactive identification of opportunities or emerging relevant trends or issues
-Customer response/problem resolution
-Evolution of response protocols
-Working with marketing partners to achieve integrated marketing promotions
-Work with agency to ensure high quality, on time deliverables
-Manage Facebook tab development and implementation
-Reporting and distribution of results
-Establish and maintain processes and protocols to ensure smooth program evolution/growth; evolve these protocols based on in-market experience
-Help define technology requirements to maintain social program integrity
-Manage vendor relationships
-Keep up with industry developments and bring new ideas to the table regularly
-Contribute to strategic planning process, large scale campaigns and builds
-Promote and socialize “social media” throughout the organization by running training sessions


Candidate should be comfortable working in a 100% remote environment and have adequate experience speaking with business owners, upper level management and decision makers. Candidate should be patient, personable and easy to talk to. Must be highly dependable and an independent thinker with the ability to hit the ground running. Candidate should also be goal driven, ambitious, highly organized and have exceptional attention to detail. Applicants should also have strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media. Must be comfortable communicating in person with other professionals.

-Must live within a 0-2 hour commuting distance of Dallas and be familiar with the metro area

-College Sophomore Level or Higher (High school diploma already acquired)

-Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or closely related field

-Ability to maintain the highest confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities

-Excellent oral and written communication skills with college courses taken in Communication & Writing (English 101 or Equivalent)

-Highly organized with a high level of attention to detail

-Proficient computer skills with a college course taken in Computer Applications or Microsoft Office Products or similar (must know how to use word processing, ppt, excel)

-Proven people skills

-Cooperative Team Oriented Attitude

-Flexible Schedule

-Ability to work at least 2 hours daily M-F between 9 A.M. -6 P.M. CST.

-Ability to attend at least one weekly conference call

-Ability to work in a 100% remote environment with no face to face interaction

-Must be comfortable speaking to CEO, COO, Upper Level Managers and Staff

-Leadership Experience Team Leader, Project Leader, Manager, Student Body Leader, Fraternity or Sorority Leader

-2 years general business or work experience (jobs, internships, volunteer work)

-4 references, one college instructor, one advisor/counselor, one former manager, one of your preference (if no prior work experience 5 references will be required 1 advisor/counselor, 2 professors, 2 personal)
