NAFE Atlanta is seeking interns to work a minimum of 15-20 hours a week in our busy communications department. Students must be able to commit for 3-6 months. This is an unpaid internship with qualifying college credit hours. This is a virtual internship; majority of work will be conducted from your home via email, internet, and phone. Interns will be working on portfolio-building public relations, social media, and marketing projects. Interns will gain practical on-the-job experience related to their academic major and career goals.

Responsibilities

- Utilizes social media to engage with a community of fans/followers online
- Coordinates online marketing and advertising campaigns
- Upload files to internet sites; help create content and update website and blog
- Collaborates with internal communication departments on projects and assignments as needed
- Demonstrates interest in social media and how media and communication strategies can continuously engage the online community

Requirements

- Must be a current student (Junior or above) in an accredited 4 year or graduate degree program
- Major: Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism
- Excellent writing and oral skills including grammar, spelling, and word usage
- Provide links to 1-3 social networking profiles to demonstrate interest and knowledge
- Possesses skills in presentation, interpersonal relations, and customer management
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Performs well in environment that values creativity, flexibility, and variety
- Exhibits personal qualities, such as open-mindedness, enthusiasm, and adaptability, and self-directed
- Prefers challenges, fast pace, new ideas, future focus, and unstructured environment
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills with consistent attention to detail
- Must have own computer with reliable high speed internet access and telephone (landline preferred)
- Not afraid to ask questions and to jump in wherever needed
- Ability to work both independently (seeking out and developing own work) as well as work well with others in a support role, taking direction from others and willing to learn
- Intern must track time spent on projects and submit weekly activity reports ensuring school requirements are met.
