The goal of an internship in human resources is to apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations, as well as gain the skills and experience that is necessary to prepare the student for a successful career in human resources.

POSITION PURPOSE: Position responsibilities include assisting the Public Relations/Marketing Management with translating marketing efforts to social media platforms.. Work will include _.
VAIN LLC Human Resources Management Highlights: Social Media interns at VAIN LLC are given the necessary opportunity to design exclusive marketing campaigns and write innovative/engaging social media content; assist journalism department in translating copy to social media (SM); monitoring VAIN LLC’s audience online; provide real time feedback and engagement. This internship is entirely dedicated to providing its students with real world experience before getting into the field post-graduation. The Social Media Intern will implement the Company’s Social Media Strategy, developing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic and encouraging product adoption. This role coordinates with the internal Marketing and PR teams to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network.
Internship Overview: Internships are professional experiences that students participate in to gain professional skills and experiences. Internships are structured as learning experiences that combine in-class theory with real-world applications. A valid experience for Social media/ marketing and or PR majors is an internship or co-op that requires skills and knowledge obtained from College of Business their courses. Positions should be similar to an entry-level position that these students would get out of college.

Responsibilities

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES
(Human resources internship, specific responsibilities may include):
1. Implement the social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the Company to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s products and services
2. Work with the Product development team to ensure social media tools (for ex. FB connect, Sharing buttons) are kept up to date
3. Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy, writing editorial, community-outreach efforts, promotions, etc.
4. Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed
5. Become an advocate of the Company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate
6. Manage a Blogger outreach program and build an active brand ambassador network to spread the word about the Company
7. Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results
8. Regularly feed back insights gained from social media monitoring into the Marketing and Editorial teams, to help them evolve their strategies in a timely fashion
9. Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications

Requirements

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Strong project management or organizational skills
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Digg, Youtube, Twitter, Flick, Instagram, Myspace etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios
• Knowledge of blogging ecosystem relevant to the Company’s field
• Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships
• Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary
• Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
• Have a good knowledge of principles of SEO
• Public relations, Marketing, Sales, Community Management experience, a plus
• Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence
• Ability to identify a target market and “speak” to that consumer through social media
• Experience proofreading and editing
• Ability to deal with uncertainty
• Ability to contribute individually, and participate in cross-functional teams
