D'Amico Coffee has been around since 1948, largely as a mom-and-pop coffee roastery/salumeria. They've had excellent standing in the Carroll Gardens community and are well known in the Brooklyn area in general as one of the last real Brooklyn Italian roasteries and coffee shops. However, in the last 3 years or so we've been in the midst of a transition from small mom-and-pop shop to much bigger wholesale supplier. Part of that transition has been solidifying our brand and developing and sticking to a coherent marketing strategy. One of the most important aspects of that has been building out our social media presence. Which is where you come in.

In addition to simply posting on various social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc. you will be charged with helping to develop the voice and guidelines under which D'Amico's is to post. For example, what is appropriate to post and what is inappropriate considering the kind of image we think D'Amico's wants to portray. That means you'll be spending a lot of your internship time meeting with the owners and managers and discussing social media strategies: this isn't the kind of internship where we put you in a room and never see you again. Furthermore, if we think this is a good fit, there is potential for future employment.
