DescriptionThe Center for Community Alternatives (CCA) promotes reintegrative justice and a reduced reliance on incarceration through advocacy, services, and public policy development in pursuit of civil and human rights. CCA is a leader in the field of community-based alternatives to incarceration. We serve people in trouble: youth at risk; families in crisis; people struggling to address drug and alcohol problems and HIV/AIDS; and people who have been involved in the criminal justice system who are seeking reintegration and productive, law-abiding lives. The individuals served by CCA are among the most impoverished and disempowered in society. CCA endeavors to address these issues by emphasizing personal empowerment, self-respect, and concern for one's community.
ResponsibilitiesDuties may include:
o Build and cultivate loyal following on various social media platforms and sites;
o Update social media sites on a regular basis;
o Assist with developing a comprehensive social media strategy;
o Communicating with supporters, activists and donors via email, phone and in person; and
o Helping develop, produce and disseminate publicity materials
RequirementsCCA is looking for volunteers with experience building a large following on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites. Interest in social media and communications at a community nonprofit organization.
o Knowledge of criminal justice issues
o Excellent writing skills preferred
o Ability to manage multiple projects
