DescriptionGen Ark is a new firm with advanced technology in perpetually preserving documents, photographs, video and other sentimental family memories. Gen Ark is seeking an academic intern for its social media initiatives. Our goal is to engage Women on social media platforms. Tasks will include: sparking conversations on Gen Ark’s social media accounts — including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr and Instagram — as well as providing general marketing support as needed.
Responsibilities• Blog Posts 3X per week (minimum of 250 words)
• Twitter – 3 Tweets X per day
• Facebook – 3 Posts X per day
• Pinterest - 20 Pins per week
• Linkedin - 3 Comments in Groups – Strategic Conversations
• YouTube – 4 Videos Month (1 per week)
• StumbleUpon – Post blog article – Discover sites, videos, articles
• Tumbler – Follow Creators
• Instagram - # Photos TBD
• Google +
• Research TBD
• Articles TBD
RequirementsCommunication and Journalism students are preferred but those pursing a Marketing degree will be considered. The internship is unpaid. Student must receive course credit for the internship and must produce proof of such credit. This company is based in the Seattle area and the applicant must commit to being available to work for a full semester, with schedules subject to restrictions and expectations set by the academic institution.
Candidates should understand the journalistic opportunities presented by social media. While you should have deep familiarity with social technologies, development skills are not required. Experience using social networks in an editorial context or related work in a newsroom is required. You should also have an excellent eye for detail and intuitive people skills.
Must be web savvy and enjoy keeping up with new content-sharing technologies online, avid users of social media (primarily Facebook and Twitter) and have experience in previous online outreach desirable.
