DescriptionNew travel company, slated to officially open December, 2016 is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Social Media Interns. We are a full service travel agency, specializing in many areas such as small groups, destination weddings, and special events. We need to showcase our specialties on the internet and provide the easiest possible way for clients to book into our groups through our website and media outlets.
You will play an instrumental role in our social media presence. The Intern will report directly to the owner, and will have an immediate and direct impact on the success of the company through social media.
This internship offers an opportunity to learn about the travel agency industry, social media and how to measure effectiveness, gain office experience, build your resume, and learn the nuts and bolts of social media and branding.

Responsibilities-- Utilizes various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google +, to engage with a community of fans/followers online.
-- Create Facebook/Twitter advertising campaigns, both in terms of the actual creation of the ads, targeting process as well as actual media buy to support new launches, brand anniversaries, sweepstakes/ contests, etc.
-- Analyze and communicate bi-weekly reports measuring percentage growth re: Facebook Likes and Twitter followers.
-- Create engaging event planning and production content on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube as well as other content sharing sites like Tumblr, WordPress, etc.
-- Background working in event planning -- either in house or freelance -- with knowledge of industry trends and ideas. Any experience dealing with online event invitations or party marketing campaigns is also a plus.
-- Experience hosting social events, i.e. a Tweet Up, blogger breakfasts, Facebook Chats, as well as live Q&A session on their Twitter channel w/ an expert.
-- Experience targeting bloggers, industry insiders, famous event planners and online media and parenting space with unique content as well as following them, cross promoting and engaging them through Twitter, Facebook and more.
Requirements-- Current college or university student status
-- The ability to receive school credit for this internship (provide proof)

-- Provide links to 1-3 social networking profiles to demonstrate interest and knowledge
-- Possesses skills in writing, presentation, interpersonal relations, and customer management
-- Performs well in environment that values creativity, flexibility, and variety

-- Prefers challenges, fast pace, new ideas, future focus, and unstructured environment
-- Knowledge of best practices for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and Google+
