DescriptionDowney Insurance Group is a forward focused Insurance Agency that is moving their marking efforts into the digital world. We currently have 3 insurance offices located in Marlborough, MA, Keene, NH and Brattleboro, VT that service all of New England. Charlie Downey president and CEO of Downey Insurance is a 25 year Insurance veteran and his sister, Catie Downey Potenza currently our Social Media Marking Manager has been working with the agency for 9 years in many facets of the business.
We take our Insurance work very seriously but we are trying to break the mold when it comes to the run of the mill “Insurance is Boring” mindset. We have established a strategic partnership with the digital marketing firm, Astonish. Astonish is one of Inc. magazines 500 fastest growing private US companies of 2012, they are an Insurance Marketing firm that is offering us incredible tools and guidance on how to best position ourselves in the digital marketing world.
ResponsibilitiesWhat an internship would look like:
We would require a commitment of 10 – 15 Hours a week, and a weekly or bi-weekly meeting with our Social Media Marketing Manager.
Read Astonish’s best practices and work with us to implement a successful Social Media Strategy. Through our partnership with Astonish we have access to best practices and marketing tools that you are not going to get anywhere else.
Write and post 2-3 subject specific blogs a week to our “onsite” blog on our website, and our “offsite” blog at GreatInsurancePeople.com.
Network for Downey Insurance using our Social Media Sites including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, LinnkedIn and Pintrest.

Designing and implementing a successful Social Media Marketing Strategy, working in one of the fastest growing sectors of the Marketing world Social Media.

If you are looking for College Coarse or High School Credit we are willing to submit documentation to make that happen.
RequirementsWe need a few creative and self-motivated people to help us continue to implement a successful social media strategy for our insurance agency that ultimately drives traffic to our Virtual Insurance Office. We are very open to new and creative ideas.
Experience with or coursework in Marketing or Social Media Marketing is necessary, and experience with WordPress is a plus.
Applicants must be proficient at and comfortable with researching and writing about Insurance related topics.
