Do you regularly notice creative marketing campaigns when watching TV, reading a magazine, or surfing online? Are you a student new media marketing principles? Do you get excited about the different channels businesses can use to engage with their community?
Our special events and lifestyle marketing boutique is in search of a Social Media Marketing Intern to interact and assist in the development of our all up-and-coming marketing activities and campaigns. Working directly under the Director of Content and Marketing, this is a great opportunity to earn experience and to learn how a event planning firm can utilize various channels to communicate and develop awareness for their clients. This includes social media, content, email, direct mail, event marketing, as well as research marketing opportunities. The ideal intern will also be learning about creating analytic reports, and will assist in the content creation for our company and client website.
ResponsibilitiesManage and develop our online presence across social networks including Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
Assist in the development of our company's social video profile on YouTube; including assisting in conceptualizing, scheduling, directing, and editing video series.
Coordinate our blog's content including writing original content and interacting with outside contributors.
Assist in the development of our content, and the delivery of all messages to community (i.e. E-blasts).
Identify opportunities for link sharing and content partnerships with other online organizations.
Assist in website redesign including structure and cataloging of content, schedules and budgets.
Prepare analytic reports to understand the effectiveness of a marketing campaign.
Assist in event management including in person classes and webinars.
Database development of industry resources, sites and organizations including talent communities, blogs, and more.
Database development of client prospects, including online presence and opportunities
Experience in online marketing, content marketing, community development and/or social media management.
Some knowledge of SEO, email marketing, content marketing and social media marketing principles and processes.
Must be comfortable writing and sending communications via Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of Hootsuite, WordPress CMS, Email Marketing Software (ie. Constant Contact), CSS and HTML.
Advanced skills using MS Office Word, Power Point, and Excel.
Strong writing skills with a focus on professional yet creative commentary.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks across projects.
Passion for Social Media and internet marketing.
Outstanding ability to think creatively, and identify and resolve problems.
Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere.
Ability to clearly and effectively articulate thoughts and points.
