Description

Our interns are aspiring writers and future marketing professionals. And the next intern could be you! The ideal candidates don't necessarily have any experience with marketing--we're here to teach you that part! This position could be a great fit if you are...

*A lover of books as objects and art
*A strong writer who appreciates constructive criticism
*Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet deadlines
*Willing to become an integral part of a small, tight-knit team

The online marketing internship curriculum gives our interns a little taste of everything:

*Contribute to our blog
*Dip your toes into social media
*Delve into content and inbound marketing
*Explore search engine optimization

The best part? This internship is remote--you can do it from anywhere. You'll need a reliable internet connection and a willingness to meet via channels like Skype or Google Hangout as needed. The position requires about ten hours (or more if desired) per week, and we're happy to help you get college credit for your work.

The Books Tell You Why marketing team has members in Charleston, SC; St. Andrews, Scotland, New York City, NY; and Boston, MA. If you'd like to add your location to that list, submit your application today.

Responsibilities

The intern will assist with creating comprehensive online marketing campaigns, which include blog articles, email newsletters, landing pages, and posts on various social media networks. Tasks will include weekly blog articles and email campaigns, along with brainstorming sessions with the online marketing team leader.

The internship generally lasts one semester, though dates are flexible. Each week you'll be responsible for a project, and we'll meet together to review your progress , introduce new concepts, and plan the next steps. Projects might including writing blog posts, researching a specific aspect of online marketing, putting together downloadable guides, etc.

Requirements

Candidates must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Students with a background in literature are preferred. Basic knowledge of HTML is helpful, but not required.
