ResponsibilitiesIdeal Candidate: Seeking a creative, hard-working, detail -oriented person who is a very good written and oral communicator. Entrepreneur Studies, Communications, Media Studies, Business, Public Relations, Marketing, Writing, and Hospitality majors will find this job exceptionally exciting! Please have the ability to follow directions, communicate weekly, excellent phone and presentation skills, work virtually, and stay organized.
Tasks will involve:
-Blogging, Facebook fan page, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
-logo, colors, website content
-Finding distribution outlets, retail stores, trade shows
-Plan and coordinate content from local markets, events and national campaigns
-Use current SEO/SEM tactics to increase page rank in Google and Yahoo.
-Review landing page performance using page ranking software.
-Create content for blog using Wordpress.com, add pictures, add blog posts, create content, increase followers
-Further develop website skills are a plus, but not necessary .
-Driving new traffic to our core website by using new platforms of social media will be a must.
-Knowledge of traffic conversion process is a plus.
-Support and protect company brand by ensuring positive messaging is maintained in communication.
-Establish consistency of message across multiple networks.
-Manage online discussions by listening to users, reading between the lines, and responding in a timely manner to users needs and requests.
Timeline: Starting Immediately! This position is ongoing all year around. Ideally, you will work 15 – 20 hours a week for 15 week commitment.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, but the experience is priceless! We will happily help you arrange for academic credit if you wish.

RequirementsIn the realm of social media, the intern will research social media outlets that are relevant to my company, research and analyze the social media used by our competitors, create and manage our company’s presence on social media sites, look for high visibility opportunities within social media outlets, write or ghostwrite press releases, blog posts, pinterest pins, Twitter, Google+, Hootsuite, etc. and email marketing pieces. The Social Media/Writer Coordinator intern will also ensure that there is proper and consistent messaging online that will help reach our organization’s objectives, support/protect our company brand by making sure that positive messaging is being maintained, and search for new social media sites that could potentially reach the customer base of our company. There will also be an opportunity to learn about the travel business by creating a group trips. Driving new traffic to our core website by using new platforms of social media will be a must. Knowledge of traffic conversion is a plus.
Extensive knowledge of social media channels, functionality, and tech space through managing ones own online presence.
-Ideal candidate will have experience managing the social media presence of a group/business/brand; however, this is not required.
-Excellent written skills, especially in context of creating social media content.
-Ability to work cross functionally with PR, Events, Marketing and Sales teams.
-Willingness to learn, think creatively and execute quickly.
-Familiarity with web analytic tools a plus (Google Analytics, bit.ly, Facebook, Insights etc.).
-Must be extremely organized and prioritize well to meet deadlines
-Maintain a positive, can-do attitude and have a customer service approach at all times
- Some familiarity and working knowledge of html code for newsletter creation, blogging or website updates is desired.
