DescriptionThe Simon Wiesenthal Center is a global Jewish human rights organization that confronts anti-Semitism, hate and terrorism, promotes human rights and dignity, stands with Israel, defends the safety of Jews worldwide, and teaches the lessons of the Holocaust for future generations. With a constituency of over 400,000 households in the United States, it is accredited as an NGO at international organizations including the United Nations, UNESCO, OSCE, Organization of American States (OAS), the Latin American Parliament (PARLATINO) and the Council of Europe.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center is seeking enthusiastic candidates for our internship program. We encourage applications from individuals who are passionate about promoting universal tolerance and human rights and who are interested in learning how non-profit organizations operate.
Social Media/Marketing interns will work closely with the Development Associate on various projects that include social media campaigns, email campaigns, and newsletters. Interns will gain hands-on experience and gain an understanding of how a small non-profit office functions. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to participate in the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance New York’s semester-long Leadership Workshop Series on a monthly basis.
Responsibilities- Create newsletters, email campaigns, online promotions, etc.
- Provide support to social media efforts to target new audiences.
- Assist with special events to promote the Center and increase attendance.
Requirements-A sincere commitment to the mission of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and non-profit work
-Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms
- Experience in conducting social media and marketing online campaigns
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills
-The ability to work independently
-Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate university program
-Commit to a minimum of 8 hours a week
- All majors welcome
