DescriptionThe Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer. We have experienced significant growth in recent years and are seeking a bright, undergraduate intern to join our team for the fall semester.
Our national headquarters are conveniently located in Manhattan Beach, California.
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s comprehensive approach to fighting pancreatic cancer is unique. We advance research, support patients, implement community outreach programs and advocate on Capitol Hill to create hope, urgency and leadership in the fight against pancreatic cancer. We are here to support the pancreatic cancer community: the patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, volunteers and our donors.

ResponsibilitiesThis social media internship is designed for a highly motivated undergraduate student who is interested in gaining social media marketing skills in a non-profit environment with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest, and will play a key role in gathering and analyzing data that drive business decisions.
This position will have the opportunity to create campaigns to help us gain followers and extend our messages, generate new ideas for social media integration across all distribution platforms and research news and trends in social/new media. Day to day activities will include assisting in updates about the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, pulling statistics and creating reports of social media platforms, monitoring social media platforms nationally and locally, uploading new graphics to keep our platforms current, compiling lists and creating groups of social media influencers.
RequirementsWe are seeking an undergraduate with experience in business, marketing and/or communications and have a specific interest in social media. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 15-20 hours per week. The position is available for academic credit and the candidate is solely responsible for coordinating that effort with their academic institution.
The successful candidate must be a proactive and curious learner, with an ability to work independently and collaboratively, and have demonstrated the ability to communicate and present ideas with clarity and precision. In addition, the candidate must be proficient with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, team player with strong interpersonal skills, excellent demonstrated writing skills and experience using social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Understanding HTML is a plus.
