The internship position will last a minimum of 8 weeks, but a longer term may be offered; schedule may be flexible depending on school scheduling requirements.
Interns are required to earn school credit; appropriate sign off will be given as needed. A stipend is available, but this is not an hourly paid intern position.
All interns from outside Los Angeles are required to work onsite at the Los Angeles office. If you are not available in person, please do not apply. You are responsible for your own housing and transportation to Downtown Los Angeles. No work Visas are available.
The eleven offices of the Pacific Region of the Arthritis Foundation are working to improve the lives of almost 6 million people who struggle every day with this serious health epidemic. To help reduce the unacceptable pain, disability and other burdens of arthritis and related diseases, we offer information, events, research grants, advocacy activities and other vital programs and services.
This internship position will be primarily used to create awareness and engagement of our audience in the Pacific Region, and work to support each office with digital communications and social media that will bring the nation’s number one disability to the forefront of our conversations.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with daily social media content, monitoring, maintaining sites and other marketing communications-related tasks.
RequirementsYou must possess excellent writing and interpersonal skills, exhibit good judgment, maturity, and understand social media inside and out. A major in public relations, communications or marketing is required. You will be asked to help create messaging strategies, content and monitor our online presence, so you should also love new technology.
