DescriptionThank you for your interest in the internship opportunities available at Purnell Enterprises (PE). Interns are highly valued and appreciated at PE and it is important to us that each student is provided with an opportunity to explore their own unique interest within our company and leave with a working knowledge of the social media sector. PE offers part-time volunteer, paid and unpaid internship opportunities, throughout the year.
The objective of the Internship Program at Purnell Enterprises is to provide highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students an engaging opportunity that will allow students to create content for major clients, attend events to host interviews, and network with professionals in the industries of business, community non-profits, fashion, media publication, and more.
Purnell Enterprises is looking to hire several interns to assist with upcoming projects. Gain an opportunity to work with businesses in industries that include non-profit organizations, foundations, business networking, nightlife events, magazine publications, fashion, and more.
Internship unpaid. Looking to hire 4 interns. After internship period, one intern will be offered a paid position wit the company as a Social Media Specialist.
ResponsibilitiesApplicants must be currently enrolled in a College or University
Must live in the Chicagoland or Metro Atlanta area
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to write and edit high quality content
Ability to maintain a professional attitude in a high stress environment
Complete majority of work task remotely (weekly virtual team meeting required)
Prospective interns should have a strong interest in urban culture, social media, blogging, and communications.
Have functional knowledge of WordPress, Hootsuite, and some photo editing (i.e. Photoshop, Pixlr, etc.)
Prospective interns should be hard-working, enthusiastic and flexible individuals
Requirements1.) Write weekly post for our urban culture blog Reese LaFrances (3-5 p/week)
2.) Manage the blog's social networking pages on Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites.
2.) Monitor and participate in online conversation generated by posts to build brand visibility and thought leadership.
3.) Develop and execute initiatives (giveaways, partnerships, etc.) to drive participated-generated content, increase community participation and add value to the blog's online community experience.
4.) Attend special events as necessary as well as assist with one-on-one interviews with top industry professionals.
5.) Assist manager with media research and custom data reporting as needed
6.) Other duties as assigned.
