DescriptionKitchology seeks a self-starter social-media savvy individual who appreciates food and cooking first and most importantly enjoys creating content around this area. This person feels comfortable editing of content, social media dissemination to the channels Kitchology participates. Appreciates good content, has an understanding of branding, and looks for ways to help with tracking, strategy and analysis of content and campaigns across the social media channels. Good grammar, messaging, writing and style of writing is very important. This candidate, we prefer, a recent graduate in the field of marketing and communications, digital media or related. But we will consider Nutritionists, dietitian or food scientists with good writing and editing skill sets along with social media familiarity. This position requires a commitment of five to ten (5-10) hours per week. This position is available immediately. You do not have to be local in MD or DC.
Responsibilities• Ensure and maintain the voice for Kitchology’s online presence
• Writing, with some editing, and proofreading of blog content and white papers
• Manage placement of your content selected sites
• Ensure consistent dissemination of blog content throughout the social channels
• Work with social media leads to ensure that content feeds and snippets (separate title and messages) are pushed to social channels such as Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Reddit and LinkedIn with link back to the Kitchology Blog.
• Help to develop outreach promotions, email newsletters, and online outreach campaigns.
• Work closely with technical, business development, and marketing members of our organization.
• Be ready to develop new ideas and have fun!
RequirementsKitchology’s social community strategy is to engage our target audience of families and people dealing with special dietary with content that is meaningful. A key message is that together (Kitchology and community) we can transform traditional food experience (shopping, cooking, recipes, etc..) and make them diet compliant regardless of the nature of the diet, whether self imposed or medically necessary, (vegan, diabetic, heart healthy, etc.). As a content contributor and social media team member, you must strive to ensure Kitchology has the highest quality of digital content across all channels. You should focus on relevant food allergy/food intolerance/direct diet community (as a whole and separately), grow the quality and quantity of interactions; with the overall goal to increase the visibility of Kitchology and protect its brand. This effort will support upcoming product launches of our web and mobile apps. Outreach will be necessary to identify where the target audience is browsing, exploring the web, and direct them to our blog and other channels. Good communication and networking skills. You will need to performs well in environment that values creativity, flexibility, and variety. You will need to enjoy a challenging environment that is fast pace, new ideas, future focus, and unstructured environment
