The School Turnaround Project set up with the vision of redefining the current standards of global volunteering experiences that are often limited to teaching English, assisting chores in an orphanage or a nursing facility or donating money. As part of this program, the shortlisted candidates will undergo an unimaginably inspiring assignment of changing a few dozen lives for real and immerse themselves in an intense journey of transformation.
Depending on one’s experience, the candidate will assume the role of a Sole Director / Co-Director of a distressed orphanage-school in India and work towards making a major difference to the sustainability of the concerned institution. That's not all, the candidate will work be part of an extremely diverse group and will also be provided extensive mentoring support from turnaround experts and, most importantly, the decision making authority to leave a lasting impact on the school’s entire ecosystem.
ResponsibilitiesA school turnaround is, in effect, a turnaround of an entire institution and its surrounding eco-system. To meet the diverse requirements of an institutional transformation, the project attracts participation from individuals having diverse focus areas - teaching and education, branding and marketing, development and humanitarian, finance, communication and PR, management and media among other areas. The final role will be decided ultimately by the volunteer herself, based on her personal interest areas and skill-sets.
RequirementsThe program is Invite only and can apply towards internship credit or volunteer experience. Interested participants will have to undergo a video discussion as part of the screening process. If you wish to enrich the Year 2015 with one life altering decision, learn more about the program and register for the video discussion through the link below.
