DescriptionEpicenter Community is a local non-profit organization based in the Roxbury neighborhood. We embody the values of authentic diversity - the art of catalyzing a real conversation about an array of concepts, connections, ideas and relationships. These experiences truly matter and define our story, together. You will work closely with our director, program manager and other interns as we move forward in our dynamic and exciting initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for an awesome individual to join our team at Epicenter. We're a small team, but we set our sights high to accomplish big and exciting things. The position is an amazing experience for anyone looking to get more experience in Social Media, Outreach, and see what it's like to work at a non-profit organization.
Social Media Responsibilities:
-Promote Identified Community Partner and AccelerateBOS Alumni Events
-Work with supervisor to highlight intercultural events aligned with the mission of Epicenter
-Send out tweets via Hootsuite
-Write blogs on our Medium account
-Be onsite during events to assist with set up and coordinate final details with participants
-Be onsite to assist in event social media promotion (Livetweeting, Instagramming)
-Help organize artists/designers/panelists/models - tending to event logistics and curation of the space
-Create Recaps on the outcomes of each week's liquor licensing hearings and deliberations
-Assist in the creation of working documents that capture facts, statistics, and articles that we can reference in our archives for social media (awareness and educational campaigns)
Strong preference for applicants enrolled in some sort of degree (four year or two year) program at a college/university. Interest in marketing and social media preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
Proficiency in Hootsuite a plus.
Comprehensive critical thinking and multitasking skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
