Description

Kids Creative is a New York City nonprofit organization that offers arts-based, peace education programs for Pre-K to middle-school age students through after-school programs, workshops and summer camps. The mission of Kids Creative is to foster the 6 C’s of peacemaking in youth: Confidence, Creativity, Conflict Resolution, Community, Collaboration and Cookies through arts education programs and live music and theater events. We believe that a better, more peaceful future is achievable by teaching youth the creative, critical thinking and social skills necessary to make peace within themselves and in society.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

•Updates Facebook and Twitter account
•Responds to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions
•Posts updates, news and announcements in a timely manner using appropriate content
•Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customer base and posts it to our Facebook and Twitter page in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
•Updates Facebook and Twitter accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from program activities and events.
•Grows Kids Creative’s online social networks by increasing fan base and interactions.
•Completes other social media projects as assigned.

Digital Media

•Takes pictures of training and program events to be developed into content for the website, Facebook, and Twitter pages
•Uploads Kids Creative photos and videos to the appropriate server or DropBox account
•Organizes and archives digital images and videos
•Completes other digital media projects as assigned

Requirements

Requirements

•Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration.
•Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Experience with Microsoft applications, basic photo-editing software, and internet browsers. Experience with Photoshop and InDesign a plus.
•Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Yelp, LinkedIn, and Google+.
•A background in the performing arts is preferred but not required.
•Available to work 10 hours per week.
