Description

OAI and the Calumet Green Manufacturing Partnership (CGMP) are working to enhance its communication strategy through upgrading its databases with latest contact information followed by creating and updating CGMP social media platforms. The goal is to create a greater presence for the program on social media, promoting recruitment events, class events, class accomplishments, and overall things to promote the objectives of the program. The intern should have experience with data entry, as we will need data input for report purposes of student records.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would understand the following:
• Social media platforms database including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram
• Identify trends using Google Analytics
• Be versed in Microsoft Office suite, and data entry
• Be able to work in a confidential environment with highly sensitive information
• Any kind of web development would be preferred, but not required

Time Commitment:
Targeting 15 - 20 hours per week for 8 weeks. Schedule is flexible.

About CGMP:
Purpose/ Mission: Enhance the manufacturing industry in the Calumet Region by addressing the labor/skills mismatch and promoting careers in manufacturing to ensure a competitive workforce is a key asset for regional economic development.
Objectives:
1. Increase employer investment in the Calumet regional workforce.
2. Meet manufacturers’ labor needs by aligning the consultative services, preparatory services and training resources available to businesses as well as unemployed, dislocated and incumbent workers.
3. Promote careers in manufacturing.

Established in 1976, OAI, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit workforce development and training agency headquartered in downtown Chicago. OAI’s programs provide training for both currently employed workers and unemployed or underemployed individuals who are in need of job skills and critical worker health & safety awareness. OAI’s Mission is to create an environment in which all people can access education, training and employment that will allow them to sustain and enjoy safe, secure and fulfilling lives.
