DescriptionFounded in 2005, the Restorative Justice Project of the Midcoast promotes fundamental change in the justice system and schools through responses to crime and wrongdoing that seek renewal and safety for the community; support and healing for victims; and accountability and reintegration of the offender into the community. Serving all four counties that comprise Maine Prosecutorial District Six (Waldo, Knox, Sagadahoc and Lincoln), RJP’s goal is to offer every student, victim, youth or adult offender and incarcerated individual reentering his community the opportunity to participate in a restorative process.
RJP seeks a thoughtful self-starter to assist in public awareness activities. The intern would work closely with the Outreach Coordinator and Executive Director as a team to promote and deepen awareness of the Project and its restorative justice philosophy and practices, particularly via social media and in conjunction with its 10th Anniversary activities. RJP office is located in downtown Belfast. Intern can work from home in conjunction with in-office work as needed. Ideal intern would provide 20-30 hours a week to project; for the right intern, we are flexible.
