Entrepreneur who is involved in several businesses seeks social media intern in win-win internship with possibility of being hired on part to full time after internship if it's a great fit. See more details below! :)

- hands-on experience with social media in real business(es)
- practice with social media platforms that will also help them grow their own personal brand as well (Facebook - personal pages, business pages, and groups, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, and yes even Google+, and more)
- super flexible (can work it around school, other jobs, and other internships)
- 100% online work schedule (work from anywhere)
- practice with social media management tools to help achieve social goals (i.e. Hootsuite, SproutSocial, Edgar, etc.)
- learn business best practices (i.e. systemization, batching, documentation of processes, streamlining communication using Asana, Basecamp, Google Docs, etc.)
- mentorship from me in starting your own social media management company
- opportunity to be hired on after internship for paid position (if it's a great fit for us both)
- be a guest on my podcast sharing what you are learning
- introductions to / networking with my contacts (other entrepreneurs and business owners) -- I'm a connector
- potential connections to future clients of your own (my friends need or will need help managing their social media too)
- sterling letters of recommendation for a job well done (as a teacher and biz owner, I'm really good at writing glowing letters of rec)
- open, honest, and kind communication from me (my 'door' is always open and I want you to feel successful and that you are learning and growing)
- regular feedback that's constructive
- freedom to find a good idea and run with it -- no micromanaging -- show me you are passionate and have good ideas and I will give you the space to try them out

- Utilizes social media to engage with a community of fans/followers online
- Coordinates online marketing and advertising campaigns
- Collaborates with internal departments on projects and assignments
- Demonstrates interest in social media and how media and communication strategies can continuously engage the online community

- work completely virtual (i.e. from home, from school, from Starbucks)
- no travel required
- no car required
- flexible work schedule -- get your stuff done and be consistent and I don't care if you work mornings, afternoons, nights, or a mix thereof
- hours: 10-20 hours+ / week
(10 hours minimum, but there's always more to do and get involved with for the energetic, hungry-to-learn person)
- curate relevant articles and other content to share (from 3rd party sources like New York Times, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, TechCrunch, etc.)
- create shareable, engaging images keeping company brand consistent (will teach you how to use Canva and PicMonkey to do this free and digitally)
- take two above and plan and schedule a content calendar for the upcoming month
post to all platforms
- engage with and follow others (as relevant)
- research trends / hashtags
- retweet / repin / share others' content to build relationships and share value with audience
- research industry leaders and engage with them to build relationships
- write blog articles about social tools and how they can help your business (likely 'ghost written' at first until you can write without a lot of overview/edits, then co-authorship is guest blogging is a possibility!)
- analyze success of activities, traffic generation, and reach (using tools like Twitter Analytics, Google Analytics, and more)

- Google+, YouTube, others (less so / in future / if you have ideas on how to leverage)
- Edgar, HootSuite
- Canva, PicMonkey
- Dropbox


- Provide links to 2-3 social networking profiles to demonstrate interest and knowledge
- Possesses skills in writing, presentation, interpersonal relations, and customer management
- Performs well in environment that values creativity, flexibility, and variety
- Exhibits personal qualities, such as open-mindedness, enthusiasm, and adaptability
- Prefers challenges, fast pace, new ideas, future focus, and unstructured environment

- top communication skills, especially written (simple, clear, conversational, approachable)
- wit/charm in writing a huge plus
- compelling writing in 140 characters (that fits in twitter :)) or less a huge plus
- friendly, kind, genuinely love people
- patient, take things in stride
- dedicated to quality, take pride in work
- never quits, finds a way, a doer
- wants to learn, grow, and be a part of building something special
- already has strong social network (you don't have to be überfamous, but should have some presence on social media already)
- already using the basics for self like Facebook, Twitter, Insta/Linkedin
- enthusiasm for social media -- you know the latest because you love it -- you are constantly reading more to be 'in the know' for trends and updates
- creative, think outside the box, love to try out new ideas and see if they worked
- attention to detail (I cannot have spelling errors, grammar errors, and mess ups in internal documentation or public-facing work ... I am a teacher, author, and biz my brand has to be represented well. That being said, I love internet speak and think working that in is funny and #tots appropriate.) :)
