Internship Position: Social Media & Community Management Intern
Compensation: College/Academic Credit
Work Hours: Flexible Schedule
Total Hours per Week: 10 – 20 hrs
Age Requirement: 18+
ResponsibilitiesDescription of Duties:
Gain substantial knowledge in our company’s services
Study the demographic details of the target consumer and help in forming strategies to attract them
Generate compelling editorial content and manage social media content calendars for all online communities
Disseminate unique content to desired audiences on social networks
Track, analyze and review the effectiveness of campaigns via metrics/reports and benchmarks for measuring the growth of
Experiment, identify, implement and maintain new and alternative online community strategies ensuring their effectiveness
in increasing visibility and brand awareness
Monitor and manage online communities including day-to-day conversations and discussion topics by listening to users,
reading between the lines, and responding in a timely manner as needed
Provide regular feedback on insights gained from the communities to help evolve the organization’s strategies
Help implement relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s services
Support and protect the organization’s brand by ensuring positive messaging is maintained in community; act as an advocate
of the company in the online community
Our goal of this internship is to help the individual to gain the following personal development:
Develop planning, organizational and time management skills
Increase knowledge of computer skills and technology
Develop team-based work competencies
Establish a fundamental foundation in Social Media Marketing
2+ years of coursework completed in the following majors: Advertising, Marketing, Sales, or related majors
Minimum overall GPA of 3.00
Excellent communication skills and the ability to inform and entertain via written, oral and visual media.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of online community platforms and their respective participants.
Thorough understanding of online etiquette.
Experience with or a regular user of “apps” on Apple and/or Android products/devices.
An innovative self-starter with problem solving skills, creativity, ambition, and a strong work ethic.
Basic knowledge of MS Office and database management.
