DescriptionYouth America, Inc., (YAInc.) is a not-for-profit, 501(c) 3, Brooklyn-based community organization that was founded in 1984. In 2004 YAInc. launched the Brooklyn Vogue boutique as a social purpose business with the primary mission of providing training for high school students in fashion retail operations. Brooklyn Vogue is a contemporary boutique that caters to women 25 to 40 something in the trendy neighborhood of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. YAInc.'s Bridge to Business Internship Training Program (B2 Program) is a work-based learning initiative at Brooklyn Vogue that services 40 high school student interns annually. Student interns working in the B2 Program at Brooklyn Vogue gain real world experiences and develop expertise in the areas of sales, merchandising and marketing. As part of their marketing training student interns manage Brooklyn Vogue's Facebook page. We are looking for a social media intern to build upon what has been established on Facebook and expand Brooklyn Vogue's presence on other social media platforms. The overall goal is to establish best practices that will enable our interns to successfully manage all of Brooklyn Vogue's social media operations.
Responsibilities- Utilizes social media to engage with a community of fans/followers online
- Coordinates online marketing and advertising campaigns
- Demonstrates interest in social media and how media and communication strategies can continuously engage the online community
Requirements- Provide links to 1-3 social networking profiles to demonstrate interest and knowledge
- Possesses skills in writing, communication, and customer management
- Ability to work independently with creativity, flexibility, and variety
- Exhibits personal qualities, such as open-mindedness, enthusiasm, and adaptability
- Prefers challenges, new ideas, future focus, and unstructured environment
