DescriptionROLE DESCRIPTION: The Social Media & Marketing Intern will play an active role in the development and support of Ardent's 30,000+ member online community. The intern will maintain Ardent's presence on various social media platforms and help to create and publish content that is relevant to our customer base. The intern will regularly analyze and report on the activity from our social media networks, as well as assist in maintaining the archive or digital images, videos, and other content. The intern will learn to reach communities, promote sales, and profitably engage with an audience via social media platforms, as well as build support for events and programs.
ResponsibilitiesUpdate Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter Accounts;
Respond to posts or comments to bring value to user's interactions with Ardent;
Post updates, news and announcements in a timely manner using appropriate content;
Perform research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customer base and post it to our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages in a manner that invites conversation and interaction;
Update Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from Ardent activities and events;
Grow Ardent's online social networks by increasing fan base and interactions;
Provide support to Public Relations efforts;
Regularly observe the online/social media activity of model organizations and report on "social media best practices" relevant to our industry subsector; and
Complete all other social media projects as assigned.
Interns must possess the following qualities:
Creative self-starters who are comfortable both taking initiative and working in collaboration with the team.
Enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
Detail-oriented people with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed coursework in a field relevant to the internship role for which they are applying;
Qualified candidates will have experience with Microsoft office applications (or Mac equivalent); familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; and software relevant to each specific role (basic photo and video editing software, apps and task-tracking software, internet browsers, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
Available to work 15+ hours per week. Intern and supervisor will decide upon specific schedule and start date.
This is a part-time internship and we require that you bring your own computer to complete internship projects and tasks. There are some unpaid positions as well as paid internships/stipends available.
Successful candidates will maintain a postive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with a wide range of personalities. Most importantly, the candidate should be flexible and willing to take on multiple tasks in a start-up environment. These internships will benefit someone who is interested in the following areas (based on the relevant position): marketing, administration/operations, sales/distribution, social media and audience development, graphic design, videography/photography, and/or digital advertising and analytics.
