DescriptionIf you're reading this, it's not too late. spoiled Media is looking for an incredible social media coordinator (intern). Namely, we're looking for anyone dope enough who wants to learn essential skills in the ever-changing media company game. We might be looking for you. Who can say, though?
What is spoiled NYC? spoiled NYC is the digital platform for spoiled Media. Basically, we're curating and creating wildly unique millennial experiences for New Yorkers. We’re telling you where to find the best drinks, eats, date ideas, concerts, and exciting things to do on the weekend, month, and season as a whole. We're also creating our own experiences through events and giveaways with small ventures both within the Greater New York City area and around the country. Staycation at The Roosevelt Hotel? Done. Extravagant getaways to Boston and Miami? Also done.
Oh, we also do slick native advertising campaigns, interview features with people like Tituss Burgess, investigative narratives, pop-culture recaps, reviews, and previews, and list-based stories.
Who are we? Check the site. It’s right there. Below. Yes, below this line. Look down. Read. Left to right. Go there.
We are seeking motivated, multi-faceted self-starters that have the confidence, ability, acumen, audacity, and competence to assist with brand development and engage in strong web and social media content. The ideal candidate will work on (and succeed in) viral content curation as well as original content creation.
So, we want you. All of you. Every single godblessed one of you. Because we value the under-appreciated non-dummy. So, if you’re not a dummy, apply.
In addition to submitting your resume, please include a witty AF cover letter and a link to any social media channels you regularly engage with for further consideration.
*Please note: Applicants MUST be currently located in the Greater New York Area.*
Check us out on social media!
ResponsibilitiesMuch of the responsibility here is devoted towards content distribution/creation via our social media channels. From time to time we might also require the following:
Daily content writing
Research events, news, etc.
Assist with editorial projects and provide support to the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team
Network through social media channels
Work on special projects, as needed
Hours are flexible, but we would love someone with a staggering amount of availability.
RequirementsPerfect English writing skills
WE WOULD REALLY LOVE IF YOU HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH HOOTSUITE
Strong sense of humor
Multi-faceted: I do not think it means what you think it means. Multi-faceted means adaptable. You need to have a strong sense of voice that can engage in a number of topics and tones. Sometimes we write about hilarious sh*t. Sometimes we write about the gravely serious plights of homelessness, affordable housing, and the NYPD (good or bad). You need to be able to write about all of this in very different ways. In the succinct ways social media requires, of course...
Experience in writing original blog posts as well as reblogging videos and pictures
An understanding of viral content
Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and problem solving skills
Knowledge of Google Docs
A working knowledge of both the internet and the computer you use
MUST be in the New York area
Daily interaction with both our content and trending topics on twitter, facebook, reddit, etc.
Effective Time Management: Understanding that tasks must be completed in a timely manner rather than simply filling out the day.
