DescriptionPROP is a multifaceted organization – in that we strive to utilize every possible platform in order to expose and end broken windows policing. We are looking to hire interns with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape – specifically of various social media platforms. We do not require interns to have prior experience as a social media intern but those chosen for the position will need strong critical thinking skills in order to be successful in our passionate team. The Video Narratives Project is a special component of our social media outreach. PROP releases reports every year that contain narratives that people have told us. These stories are one of the most essential aspects of our reports as they provide insight into the story beyond the gruesome statistics. The goal is to continue our storytelling through various platforms. We are looking to take our narratives projects to youtube and instagram in an almost “Humans of New York” template.
ResponsibilitiesCandidates for this project will:
• Be savvy with a smart phone camera or have a professional camera
• Be savvy with social media platforms – namely instagram and youtube – and utilize them regularly
• Be able to collect 3-4 stories a week
Please e-mail your resume and a statement of interest to PROP Director Bob Gangi at firstname.lastname@example.org and to our project coordinator Maesha Meto at email@example.com
