Description

The New York Peace Coalition/Peace December is a Non-Profit Organization in deep need of a Website designer. to help bring awareness to the organization that has a platform to bring realization of the violence in our community and in our households and it's affect on our generation of tomorrow to the for front.
The designer would need to be able to design a web site and be willing to manage it on a bi- weekly bases. and be able to design something that is going to bring traffic and awareness to raise money so we can self sufficient.

Responsibilities

To become a web designer, you will need:
an understanding of web programming and scripting languages
a good working knowledge of the main web design applications
strong creative skills
the ability to pay attention to detail
good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to work
the ability to explain technical matters clearly to people who may have little knowledge of IT
an ability to work to deadlines
an understanding of legislation and guidelines for website accessibility
a willingness to keep up to date with changes in technology and software

Requirements

Person must have:
Wide knowledge of different website programs.
Creative mind and be able to think outside of the box.
Be able to work independent from Office/Home.
experience in other types of design, or have done some training in web design, either through college or by teaching themselves.
You will need to show evidence of your creative and technical skills, usually in the form of a DVD or 'live' websites you have worked on.
You will need a good working knowledge of HTML, and experience of writing web pages in a combination of codes. It could be useful if you a working knowledge of some of the following design and programming tools:
Dreamweaver and Photoshop
CSS
Javascript
.Net frameworks
To become a web designer, you will need:

an ability to work to deadlines

You will also need good business management and negotiating skills if you are self-employed.
