Description

Join our development team as a Web Developer intern and learn how to design, implement, test, ship, and support website features and backend components for a high-performant and high-scalable website. We use the Microsoft stack, so you will gain knowledge in a wide array of technologies related to website and service development, including Azure, MVC, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, .Net, C#, Visual Studio, TFS, and MSTest. You will also get first hand experience in working in a startup business, will receive coaching from veteran software developers, and will have the opportunity to work with experienced marketing, business, and user experience professionals in designing features and UI flows, and contributing ideas to the overall success of the project.

We are building a search engine for all things local, allowing users to find anything that is local – such as music concerts, plays and performances, restaurants, bars, and other venues, local deals, service providers, courses, community activities, events, yard sales, or anything else. If it can be displayed on a map, our engine can help you find it.

Responsibilities

• Research, prototype, and propose solutions to technical problems
• Work with marketing and UX counterparts to design features and UI flows
• Implement features and UI flows for the front-end (HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS)
• Implement features and components for the back-end (.Net, C#, Azure)
• Write unit tests and component tests, and manually test features as needed to ensure high quality
• Investigate customer issues, fix bugs, and update the production system with improvements
• Be able to devote 15 hours per week
