An internship at Get Fit NH will present you with the opportunity to experience hands-on, individualized coaching with dozens of clients per day. Each intern will have the chance to coach clients with a variety of different goals, physical conditions and training readiness. Get Fit NH has earned numerous awards for both coaching and business practices, including being named "Best Gym" four years and running.


Hour Minimum
Get Fit NH Internships are designed to be 12 weeks in length. Interns are expected to work during our operating hours, which may include split shifts. You will have the opportunity to work in both our Concord and Epsom training facilities. Inability to do so will necessitate a removal from the intern program. All requests for time off must be submitted to Management 2 weeks prior to the time requested.

Duration of Internship
Interns will be expected to remain with Get Fit NH for the times listed above unless otherwise noted or recommended by management of Get Fit NH. Instances in which this is not possible should first be cleared and thoroughly discussed with management.

Interns will need to familiarize themselves with all warm-up, self myofascial release, and flexibility practices and procedures Get Fit NH and be able to lead all clients and athletes through their warm-up (either in a group or individually).

Training Techniques
Interns will be expected to show competency in teaching all common training techniques at Get Fit NH as covered in the Baseline Training Certification as well as any other techniques as deemed necessary by the head coach.

Program Design
Clients and athletes at Get Fit NH train in a specific training system and interns will be expected to learn the order, importance, and reasoning for these decisions.

Nutrition Information
Interns will be expected to learn and demonstrate knowledge of basic nutrition information that is commonly distributed to clients and athletes. Interns should be able to answer questions regarding this information when asked by clients/athletes.

Staff meetings
Interns are required to attend all staff meetings and any training in-services.

Intern meetings
One time per week each intern must meet with a senior staff member to cover a specialized topic in training, nutrition, or business development.

Client interaction
Interns must be able to interact with all clients in a professional and courteous manner. This includes but is not limited to introducing themselves to all new clients, going out of their way to greet clients as they enter within 5 seconds, and saying goodbye to any clients exiting the facility.

Arrive 15 minutes early
Interns should arrive to all scheduled training times at least 15 minutes early unless otherwise approved by management.

Continuing Education
Interns will be responsible for reading/watching/listening to 1 continuing education resource per week (Assigned on Friday) and will turn in a minimum 1 page report 1 week following assignment. Interns will also be expected to share their reports at selected staff meetings.

Cleaning tasks
Interns will be expected to complete a daily list of cleaning tasks outlined in the daily cleaning completion chart. These tasks are to be completed during down time of a session, at the end of a shift, or at the discretion of the manager on duty. The completion of all cleaning


Intern must have strong work ethic, the desire to put clients needs first, and work well in a team environment. We put a lot of work into the internship program, and expect like in return. Those candidates studying or degreed in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sports Studies and other fitness or sports related fields will earn practical knowledge and experience by completing this internship. Others who would benefit would be those who have earned their Personal Trainer certification and need real world experience.
