Location: Greater Atlanta, Georgia
This is a unique opportunity to work under the direction of Dr. Mark Kovacs (leading performance physiologist and strength and conditioning coach) in the physical preparation of elite athletes based in a multidisciplinary research, sport science and training facility in Atlanta, Georgia.
The position will be responsible for the coordination and administration of comprehensive high level small group and one-on-one training of elite and professional athletes. This position will work with various sports, but a specific focus of the facility is on elite athletes in the sports of tennis, baseball, golf, basketball and track & field.
This environment only accepts a small number of athletes who are committed to professional success. The system of testing and training has been developed by Dr. Kovacs and his team. The individual in this position will also work on a number of sport science opportunities that will expand your experience and knowledge in the physical preparation of elite athletes. The position will run the day to day training of athletes within a state of the art training facility which includes top of line equipment, research and testing institute, athlete care and access to medical specialties onsite.
-Working daily with some of the top athletes in the state, nation and world.
-Ability to test and train athletes in various aspects of physical performance.
- Developing daily, weekly, monthly and yearly training plans
-Utilization of specifically designed online software for daily workout tracking in facility and on the road training
-Data analysis and video motion analysis
-Power testing and training
-Working closely with outside institutes on various advanced testing of athletes and implementing results.
Bachelor degree in Exercise/Sport Science (or equivalent)
Minimum of 1 years related experience
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Extensive knowledge and experience in the implementation of strength and conditioning programming in elite level athletes
Knowledge in the following areas: strength training, Olympic lifts, plyometrics, speed development, conditioning, flexibility, injury prevention, nutrition and strength and conditioning equipment
Knowledge of sport science testing and assessments
-International Tennis Performance Association (iTPA) Certified Tennis Performance Specialist (CTPS) qualification
-Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA
-Experience as a competitive athlete
