Student Coach - "Get Fit" Internship

We are seeking Student Coaches to empower, motivate, teach, and mentor 3rd - 8th grade students participating in our client's unique "Get Fit" sports & fitness programs. The ideal candidates are equipped with with the right skills sets and desire to empower, motivate, teach, and mentor students at our Oakland school sites. We are recruiting Student Coaches for full term internships (January-May) and half term internships (March/April-May).

Student Coaches will learn how to plan, organize, and implement different youth sports/fitness programs. Additionally, Student Coaches will learn how to interact with teachers, counsel students, develop constructive behavior programs for students with destructive behavior patterns.

Prep Stars of America is a non-profit youth development agency that offers a unique brand of anti-bullying, behavior modification, and anger management through personalized sports & fitness programming for Pre-K through high school aged youth. We offer culturally rich, highly interactive programs to private, charter, and alternative schools in California's Alameda County school districts. Our culturally rich programs include "Get Fit" Recess programs, Kinder Cross Fit Challenge, PSA Sports Leagues (Lacrosse, Basketball, Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Flag Football). -Support the Get Fit Program Director
-Assist and support Junior Coaches with daily tasks and duties involving the Get Fit Program
-Meet with students who have difficulty participating in Get Fit program to structure alternative programming (this is usually due to behavioral issues)
-Support logistical implementation of educational program by collecting daily data and numbers of those who participate in the program
-With the support of the Get Fit Director you will design behavior modification programs and present findings at the end of your internship
