The Preparation

How to post

Before you post or send out a video introduction, study what image you present. Look at your appearance and mannerisms and listen to how you sound. Ask friends, family or your career center to review it. They are more likely to pick up imperfections than you are. If it's not perfect, start over.

Once your video is complete, there are several ways to promote it online.

  • Include your video introduction or a link to it in your resume on any professional networking sites like LinkedIn. (Note: Premium Members on internships.com can upload or capture a video resume through our site and send it with their application.)
  • Send the link to your networking contacts.
Don't mix your personal life with your professional. If you have information on your MySpace or Facebook page that you'd prefer employers don't see, don't link your video to those locations.
