Description (full): The Economic Research Service (ERS) seeks interns with a knowledge of economics or computers. The ERS is the main source of economic information and research from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Economics assistants conduct or assist with economic research, and computer clerks/assistants/information technology specialists perform data management tasks, including data compilation, statistics and validation of data and computation. Interns receive a salary based on education and experience and subsidized local subway and bus transportation.

Requirements: Economics interns must have taken at least one course in economics and junior or senior economics majors or graduate students in economics are preferred. Computer interns who are information technology or computer science majors with a knowledge of Microsoft Office software, programming and statistics are preferred. All applicants must be citizens of the United States or of countries allied with the United States in a defense treaty agreement or exempted by Congress. Applicants must also be currently enrolled in a college or university and be planning to continue their education in the next year. Please visit the website for more information.
