Summer Theatre Internships

Summer 2013 mid June- late August (flexible) Monday-Friday, Full-time or Part-time Description of Duties: Assist with social media marketing (updating the website, Facebook, Twitter). Assist with gorilla marketing plan (placing and moving signs around town, postering at local businesses). Creating a behind the scenes biweekly video previewing the professional season shows. Organizing and chronicling past press clippings. Writing press releases. Helping coordinate print advertising. Some Box Office hours, as needed.

Start Date: Negotiable (Late May to First September 2013) Schedule: Negotiable / Minimum 24 hours per week We are looking for an intern to work in our office for the Summer with a possibility of a full time position in our Crockett Texas office. There will be local lodging and a negotiated stipend involved, but intention is for this position to also be awarded school credit for your work with us, if your school is open to such arrangements. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of an award winning community arts organization while working in the professional entertainment world, gaining knowledge and experience in Arts Management. This internship has the potential to grow in to salaried position.

Internships available for career track theatre arts students or recent graduates. Summer Theatre of New Canaan, one of Connecticuts premier professional summer theatres, is now hiring for its 10th season. Interns work side by side with theatre professionals in acting, creative, technical and management. Twelve paid positions are available on a rolling admission! The program runs 12 weeks from late May - mid August. Interns work with the Production Coordinator, Master Carpenter, Master Electrician, House Sound Engineer, and house crew on all aspects of technical theatre and film. This includes hands-on in all of the following areas carpentry, lighting, sound, audio/visual, and running crew.

Children's Theater Interns at Springville Center for the Arts(SCA) participate in a summer long residency. Activities include acting, teaching, managing theater productions. The program includes productions for children staffed completely by the interns as well as educational programming taught by the interns. Participants do a little of everything. This is not a paper pushing internship! The program begins right after the semester and ends mid-August. (Shorter vacations are fine.) SCA is a multi-arts center located in rural Western New York State. An apartment and stipend of $150 per week is provided. This internship provides an opportunity to learn principles of outdoor education and small scale farming in Portland, Oregon. The intern would primarily work with urban youth in camps that expose them to outdoor experiences through 4-H activities. There may also be an opportunity to work with a small preschool Waldorf Forest Camp and an all Hispaninc overnight camp. The internship is for the month of July with some opportunities for extension. A small cabin is available for housing.

Berkshire Playwrights Lab is dedicated exclusively to encouraging, developing, and presenting new plays. While working in a professional and creative environment with established professionals, interns will have a provocative opportunity to share in the dramatic evolution of premiere works. This internship combines a thorough experience in both administration and production providing on the job training in the management office, rehearsal rooms, back stage, and front of house.
