Agora is an online town hall for local communities. Our mission is to use technology to make
democratic participation more inclusive, accessible, and scalable. At Agora, we believe technology can transform civic engagement and empower people to make a difference.
Agora is based out of the Harvard Innovation Lab and MassChallenge. The collective experience of our founding team includes Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, McKinsey, Bain & Co, LinkedIn, Obama 2012, Senator Elizabeth Warren and Governor Deval Patrick campaigns, Arab Spring movement, and three previous startups.
You will be working in close contact with the founding team and community managers and act as a member in the core team on various assignments as needed. Specific responsibilities will include:
• Implementing and refining digital marketing strategy
• Managing relationships with elected officials, civic leaders, and community stakeholders
• Researching user insights and designing user experience

engagement and technology and anything you want to learn about how to build a business! You
will gain significant experience in working at a fun and mission-oriented start-up team, enjoy
access to learning resources at Harvard Innovation Lab, and be part of a dedicated team building a venture that makes a real difference in the world!
RequirementsWe are looking for students with 110% passion in changing the world through the use of new
media. Existing skills and knowledge in marketing and community organizer are desired but not
necessary. Candidates should be motivated by a fast-paced start-up environment and flexible in
their work arrangements, be ready to take responsibilities and work under tight deadlines, have
experience working in teams as well as independently, show initiative and willingness to take risks.
