DescriptionHave you ever wanted to work at a tech startup and contribute to its development from the beginning? We are looking for Software Developer Interns who want to make a substantial difference to a mission and company as it takes off.
This is an exciting opportunity to spend your summer in Washington, D.C. working closely with cofounders and contributing to a team launching an exciting company. Our company will expose our interns to, and develop their skills in, technology, platform development, and business. You can learn more about us on our website: ducoadvisors.com.
We have a variety of opportunities and are accepting graduate and undergraduate applicants. We may offer interns extensions into the fall and/or full-time positions upon graduation.
Software Developer Intern (alternative title to be selected upon hire)
Interns receive a $125 weekly stipend to cover transportation and lunch. Interns receive free snacks and beer (if legal) all summer. Interns will also receive mentorship on next steps, introductions to other mentors, and letters of recommendation. We do not pay for housing or relocation to Washington.
Launching online in June 2016, Dūcō is a Washington, D.C.-based on demand marketplace of experts who are available to connect with clients around the clock. Through our online platform, tell us what you need, or browse our experts yourself, and receive an immediate virtual introduction.
Our experts have advised the President, led international negotiations, run for political office, worked for the CIA, and many currently serve as distinct professors at top universities. Carefully recruited and vetted, experts have at least a decade of global policy, political, and strategic communications experience in some of the most competitive positions in their field. They are experienced briefers, savvy communicators, resourceful analysts, and deliver immediate insight to our clients. We have access to hundreds of experts and continue to recruit exceptional candidates to serve your global policy needs.
All of our summer interns will report to our office in Washington, D.C. and work full-time, approximately 40 hours a week. Interns can occasionally work remotely. Interns may also need to attend events and meetings in Washington. The internship will last three to four months. We can work with the intern to ensure she/he receives academic credit if that is an option at the intern’s institution. The intern is responsible for ensuring all of the requirements are met for school credit. We may offer internship extensions or fulltime job offers to outstanding interns.
Email your resume; selected projects/portfolio items in which showcase the quality of your work and the extent of your abilities; and a cover letter which discusses why you want this job, to email@example.com. Only top candidates who are selected
Dūcō’s co-founders are seeking an ambitious, innovative, and self-motivated intern to join our team and contribute to the company’s first few months in operation as a software developer. This is an exciting role for someone who wants to learn how to start a company and is interested in applying developer skills to a real company. The intern will provide support on launching the company, from updating the website, to thinking strategically about the next version of our application, to fixing bugs in our platform.
This intern will work closely with the co-founders and receive guidance from senior developers, but will have a lot of responsibility and we encourage innovation and new ideas.
Projects may entail:
• Crisis management to identify and/or fix any small kinks in our current platform.
• Implementing sections of our next version platform.
• Suggestions on strategy and how we can improve our current product.
• Drafting scopes of work for next version items.
It will be fun. It will be hard.
We are looking for candidates who are:
• Able to showcase their skillset through a degree and/or deep portfolio of high quality work.
• Self-starters who understand the vision and move quickly with little guidance.
• Intellectually curious about technology, platform development, and startups.
• Attentive to detail.
• Interested in seeking opportunities and investment with us in the long-term, which is an option for exceptional interns.
