DescriptionGeneral Overview: We looking for interns passionate about making stage costumes. We are creating cutting-edge LED Tech-Art costumes that utilize unique combinations of special materials and advanced light technology to produce works-of-art worn by performers.
The initial focus is the creation of extraordinary stage show elements for the musical/EDM artist Hyper Harp, www.hyperharp.com. This includes light suits, light helmets, 15 foot puppet-like light wings, hand midi-controllers, and more eye-catching and interactive components. As an intern, you would assist in all aspects of design and construction of these exciting stage costume elements.
You will learn insights on using imbedded technology, and ways materials can enhance light treatment, as well as the “engineering” of implementing such into worn costumes. Your internship can involve making costumes for major artists as we expand our marketing reach. You can be involved with actual performances of these costumes as well.
You will work out of our studio on Huron and Halsted. Hours are flexible, including evenings and weekends. We strive to accommodate the best schedule for you. This is a year-round open internship, available for you to jump in anytime you are ready.
Compensation: While this internship is listed as unpaid, we do want to compensate those hard-working interns through revenue share, future paid contract work, post-paid comp, or even design royalty. Details will be discussed during your first interview.
