Description

General Overview: The initial project focuses on the creation of extraordinary stage show elements for the musical artist Hyper Harp, www.hyperharp.com. This includes a light suit, light helmet, 15 foot puppet-like light wings, hand midi-controller, and more eye-catching and interactive components. This project will be the first of many to come developed for other music artists, as well as other tech-art applications such as general fashion, furniture, and objects. Extensive marketing will be conducted to promote the first major project. Interns are welcomed to join the development and marketing teams for this cutting-edge project.

Company Background: www.allyentertainment.com. Established in 1995, ALLY Entertainment is a non-for-profit that covers a number of facets in the music industry, such as: assisting bands/artists with obtaining performances/gigs, producing music tracks, conducting research and development of related technology, and supporting its artists with promotion and marketing. One of the growing areas for ALLY is the convergence of art and technology for the creation of stage costumes and elements for its artists. This endeavor is leading to the future establishment of a dedicated design firm that will continue such development on a more concentrated basis.

Stage/Scenery: Theatre department interns are welcomed to participate in the construction of the various elements that comprise the Hyper Harp stage show. This includes developing the large 15-foot wing structure that incorporates LEDs and other technology. Interns will work with our team to engineer various solutions that enable our structure to move like a giant puppet. The structure is illuminated with the benefit of various techniques to maximize light diffusion and reflection.
