DescriptionTransport Marketing Consultants is based in Orland Park, IL and an independent agent for Landstar. Although we are contracted to a leader in the transportation and logistics industry with a corporate office based in Jacksonville, FL, our independent location is run out of a smaller location, with a more laid back yet energetic structure. Our office is number one in the Midwest region and in the top ten for freight sales nationwide. Our company is growing at about a 20% annually and there are several opportunities for one to grow with us including but not limited to operations, sales, marketing, and administrative assistance just to name a few. We are looking to hire a student immediately seeking an internship position in the field of Transportation and Logistics or Supply Chain Management. We're preferably looking to interview students taking courses in Logistics Operations, Supply Chain Management, and/or Business Development.
The student will be assisting the Director of Business Development while simultaneously working agency operations. The experience preferred includes: Reception, Marketing Assistance, Dispatch, Data Entry, and/or Customer Service. Upon one year successful completion of the internship position, the student may be offered a paid full-time position.

Responsibilities*Manage all email and phone correspondence including but not limited to customers, drivers, carriers, and corporate communications.
*Post freight for customers
*Assist with coordinating shipments to drivers
*Assist with finding lanes of interest and marketing business to prospective drivers
*Assist with marketing services to direct customers
*Complete freight bills and dispatch
*Assist Director with billing, market research, pricing, training, and any other projects that may require administrative assistance
Requirements*Must be able to work out of our office in Orland Park, IL , USA
*Early AM Availability
*High School Diploma
*Applying for or completing a Bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Transportation & Logistics, Business
Administration, Business Development or another related field
*Basic computer and customer service skills
*The genuine desire to learn, gain experience, and grow professionally in the field of Logistics and Transportation
