Description

Barn Hill Preserve is an interactive zoo located in Ethel, LA. We offer both tours at the facility and mobile programs that visit schools to provide free educational animal shows. Our dedicated interns work ~40 hours a week feeding and caring for our more than 30 species of exotic animals, and educating the public about the conservation and preservation of their native habitats. Barn Hill offers a unique experience for students looking to enter the exotic animal field, we provide a hands on opportunity to work with and learn from our animal ambassadors.

Responsibilities

Daily tasks include but are not limited to: feeding/cleaning enclosures, enrichment projects, positive reinforcement training, facility tours, assisting at mobile programs, serving as a BHP ambassador at community events, building and enclosure maintenance, etc.

We are looking for enthusiastic hard working individuals with a passion for animals and education. Must have a drivers license and reliable transportation, we prefer a background with animals (exotics, domestics, farm), be willing to submit to random drug testing, must be willing to travel. Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Housing provided on site, a stipend may be given on an individual basis.
